PORTLAND, OR (October 3, 2024)– Oni Press, the multiple Eisner and Harvey Award-winning publisher of groundbreaking comics and graphic novels since 1997, is proud to announce the stunning addition to its 2025 slate of graphic novels with The Lost Sunday by creator Ileana Surducan (Nor’s Holiday) presenting the Eisner Award-nominated, all-ages tale about the need for free time in the midst of our busy, everyday lives in English for the first time.

Nina lives in a dusty town, haunted by the six angry wolves of the week—Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Each day brings never-ending chores and drudgery. Legend speaks of a seventh day to rest—Sunday—but everybody knows an evil witch stole it and keeps it locked away. When Nina finally says enough is enough, she sets out on an ambitious quest, but will she be able to vanquish the witch and bring back the lost Sunday?

"I hope children will be delighted by this colorful journey into a land of magic, filled with whimsical creatures, strange trials, and lessons about kindness to all, yourself included,” said Ileana Surducan. “ And I hope grown-ups might see a story that shines a light on a very present-day problem—the quest for free time—that offers a glimpse of hope: to strike the perfect, delicate balance between work and relaxation."

Inspired by Old World folklore and fairy tales, this story shines a magical light on a present-day problem: burnout and the importance of leisure. A great read for kids and adults alike, find Ileana Surducan’s enchanting, Eisner Award-nominated opus The Lost Sunday in comic shops and bookstores everywhere in June 2025!
